The Sinixt Confederacy, in collaboration with Gonzaga University’s Native American Studies program, hosted “The Sinixt Confederacy: Rights, People, Stories” event at the Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center. The evening featured readings from Eileen Delehanty Pearkes’ “Geography of Memory” and a screening of Derrick LaMere’s film “Older than the Crown,” followed by a Q&A session. This event aimed to shed light on the history, rights, and cultural narratives of the Sinixt people.
This event was part of Gonzaga University’s Native American Studies program’s 10-year commemoration, highlighting the importance of preserving and sharing Indigenous stories and histories.
